Last updated : July 6, 2026
This document is provided in English for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
This Privacy Policy explains how Location Remorque Laval (the “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, retains, discloses, protects and destroys personal information when you rent trailers, machinery, excavators, lifts or vehicles, purchase trailer and RV parts and accessories online, use our workshop services, or otherwise interact with our website, forms, communications or customer service.
The Company is committed to protecting your privacy and complies with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and, where applicable, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This English version is provided for convenience as the counterpart of our French-language document; it governs your relationship with the Company under the laws of Quebec and Canada.
1.1. Our Commitment and the Scope of This Policy
Protecting your personal information is a priority for the Company. This Policy sets out our practices in a clear and transparent way so that you understand what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and the rights you have.
This Policy applies to all personal information the Company collects in the course of its activities, including when you:

- consent to receive marketing communications.
This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, platforms or services that have their own privacy policies. When you are redirected to a third party, we invite you to review their policy.
2.2. Person Responsible for the Protection of Personal Information
In accordance with Law 25, the Company has designated a person responsible for the protection of personal information. This officer oversees our compliance and handles your requests, questions and complaints regarding your personal information.
You may reach the officer at:

- Telephone: 450-232-7828
3.3. Information We Collect
We collect only the personal information necessary for our activities, the provision of our services and our legal obligations. Depending on your interaction with us, this may include:
- Identity information: first and last name, business name (if applicable), and, where required for certain rentals, government-issued identification such as a driver's licence.
- Contact information: postal address, billing and delivery addresses, email address and telephone number.
- Account data: username, password (stored in protected form), preferences and communication settings.
- Rental and purchase history: reservations, contracts, orders, invoices, service records and related documents.
- Payment information: processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number; we may retain limited data such as the card brand and last digits for reconciliation.
- Browsing data and cookies: IP address, device and browser identifiers, pages viewed and similar technical data collected through cookies and comparable technologies (see the Cookie Policy).
- Communications: emails, form submissions, and notes related to your file.
Information that does not identify you, or that has been irreversibly anonymized in accordance with applicable requirements, is generally not treated as personal information.
4.4. Why We Use Your Information (Purposes)
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- to process, confirm and manage your reservations and orders, including rental contracts and workshop bookings;
- to arrange delivery of parts and accessories or coordinate pickup in Laval;
- to provide customer service and respond to your questions and requests;
- to handle billing, payment and collection of amounts owed;
- to ensure the security of our services, prevent fraud and protect our equipment;
- to meet our legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations;
- to send marketing communications only with your consent, and subject to your right to withdraw it at any time.
We do not use your personal information for purposes incompatible with those stated above without informing you and, where required, obtaining your consent.
5.5. Consent and Its Withdrawal
We collect, use and disclose your personal information with your consent, whether express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the context, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Where the law requires it — for example, for marketing communications — we obtain your express consent before proceeding.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the person responsible at info@locationremorquelaval.ca. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect processing already carried out. Please note that withdrawing consent may prevent us from providing certain services, and that we may be required by law to retain certain information (for example, invoices) despite your withdrawal.
6.6. Disclosure to Third Parties — and Our No-Sale Commitment
We may disclose your personal information, only to the extent necessary and with appropriate safeguards, to:
- our payment provider, to process transactions securely;
- carriers and delivery partners, to fulfil orders and deliveries;
- IT, hosting and technical service providers who support our website and systems;
- public authorities, courts or regulators, where required by law or valid legal process.
When we entrust personal information to a service provider, we do so under a written agreement requiring the provider to protect the information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Your information is never shared for the marketing purposes of unrelated third parties.
7.7. Hosting and Transfers Outside Quebec
Your personal information is hosted and processed on our behalf by service providers who may be located in or store data outside Quebec, including elsewhere in Canada or abroad. In that case, the information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is held.
Before entrusting information outside Quebec, we conduct the assessment required by Law 25 and put in place contractual safeguards to ensure the information receives protection comparable to that required under Quebec law. You may contact the person responsible for more information about these arrangements.
8.8. Retention Period
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to provide our services, and to comply with our legal, tax, accounting and contractual obligations.
As a general guide:
- Contracts, invoices and accounting records: retained for the period required by applicable tax and commercial law.
- Account and order history: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.
- Communications and service records: retained for a reasonable period to manage your file and any dispute.
- Marketing data: retained until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe.
When the information is no longer needed, we destroy, delete or anonymize it in a secure manner, in accordance with applicable law.
9.9. Security Measures
We implement reasonable technical, physical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption at rest of sensitive information, and encryption in transit (TLS) for data exchanged with our website;
- access controls that limit access to personal information to authorized persons on a need-to-know basis;
- protected passwords, stored using secure hashing rather than in plain text;
- secure handling of payment, with full card numbers processed by our payment provider and not stored by us;
- monitoring and safeguards designed to detect and prevent unauthorized activity.
While we take these measures seriously, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. To the extent permitted by law, we cannot guarantee absolute security; however, nothing in this Policy limits any liability that cannot be excluded under Quebec law, including liability for bodily or moral injury or for gross or intentional fault, and your mandatory rights remain fully in force.
10.10. Your Rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Rectify information that is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- Withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your information;
- Portability: obtain the computerized personal information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format, where the law applies;
- De-indexation: request that a hyperlink giving access to your information be de-indexed, in the cases provided by law;
- request the cessation of dissemination of your personal information where its dissemination contravenes the law or a court order.
To exercise any of these rights, contact the person responsible at info@locationremorquelaval.ca. We will respond within the time limits prescribed by law. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on your request.
Minors' information. Our services are directed to adults and to businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 14 years of age without the consent of a person having parental authority, except where the collection is clearly for the minor's benefit as permitted by law. If you believe we have collected such information without the required consent, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
11.11. Confidentiality Incidents
We maintain procedures to prevent and respond to confidentiality incidents involving personal information. In the event of an incident, we:
- take reasonable measures to reduce the risk of harm and prevent new incidents;
- assess whether the incident presents a risk of serious injury;
- where required, notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the affected individuals with reasonable diligence;
- keep a register of confidentiality incidents in accordance with Law 25.
12.12. Cookies and Consent When Submitting Forms
Cookies. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, ensure security and understand how the site is used. For details on the cookies we use and how to manage them, please refer to our Cookie Policy, which forms part of and complements this Privacy Policy.
Consent when submitting forms. When you submit a form on our website — for example, to request a quote, book a rental or workshop service, create an account, place an order, or contact us — you provide personal information that we use for the purpose indicated on the form and described in this Policy. By submitting a form, you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide for that purpose. Marketing communications are sent only if you have separately opted in. You may withdraw your consent or unsubscribe at any time by contacting info@locationremorquelaval.ca or using the unsubscribe link in our messages. Please provide accurate information and do not submit personal information about another person unless you are authorized to do so.
13.13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services or the law. The version in force is the one published on our website. Where a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to inform you. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
14.14. Complaints and Governing Law
Complaints. If you have a question, concern or complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact our person responsible first, so that we can address it directly:
- Email: info@locationremorquelaval.ca
- Mail: Location Remorque Laval, 1870 rue Cunard, Laval, Quebec H7S 2B2
- Telephone: 450-232-7828
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, which oversees the protection of personal information in Quebec.
Governing law. This Policy is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Laval, Quebec. Any limitation or exclusion set out in this Policy applies only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes liability for bodily or moral injury, or for gross or intentional fault, and nothing waives the legal warranty of quality and durability or any other mandatory right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law. Your mandatory statutory rights remain fully in force.
