Cookie Policy
Last updated : July 6, 2026
This document is provided in English for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
This Cookie Policy explains how Location Remorque Laval (the "Company", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on its website www.locationremorquelaval.ca (the "Site"). It describes what cookies are, the categories we use, the legal basis on which each category is placed, how long they remain on your device, and how you can manage, block or delete them.
This Cookie Policy forms an integral part of, and must be read together with, our Privacy Policy. By continuing to use the Site, and where required by law by giving your consent, you acknowledge the practices described below. This document is governed by the laws applicable in the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Laval, Quebec.
1.1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, tablet, smartphone or other connected device when you visit it. The cookie allows the site, or a third party, to recognize your device, store information about your visit and read that information on later visits.
In this Cookie Policy, the word "cookie" is used broadly and also covers similar technologies that perform comparable functions, including:
- Local and session storage and other data stored in your browser;
- Pixels, tags and web beacons (small invisible files used to record activity);
- Software development kits (SDKs) and similar identifiers.
Cookies may be placed directly by us ("first-party cookies") or by a third party acting on our behalf or providing a service on the Site ("third-party cookies"). Cookies do not, on their own, run programs or deliver viruses to your device.
2.2. Categories of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies. Not all categories are necessarily active at all times; their use depends on the pages you visit, the features you use and the choices you make.
- Strictly necessary (essential) cookies. These cookies are required for the Site to function and to deliver the services you request. They enable core features such as keeping your shopping cart contents, maintaining your session and login state, routing traffic, remembering steps in a checkout or booking process, and preserving the security and integrity of the Site. Without these cookies, parts of the Site (including online ordering of parts and accessories, and rental or workshop request forms) may not work properly. Because they are indispensable to a service you have expressly requested, they cannot be switched off through our consent tools.
- Preference (functionality) cookies. These cookies remember choices you make to give you a more personalized experience, such as your language, region, display settings or previously entered information. Disabling them does not prevent you from using the Site but may reduce convenience.
- Audience measurement (analytics) cookies. These cookies help us understand how visitors find and use the Site by collecting information such as pages viewed, time spent, navigation paths, approximate location and device or browser type, generally in aggregated or de-identified form. We use this information to measure performance, diagnose problems and improve the Site.
- Marketing cookies (where applicable). Where we use them, these cookies may help us measure the effectiveness of our communications and campaigns and, where relevant, display or adapt content and offers that may interest you. We describe this category generically and will identify any specific tool used for this purpose in our consent tool or updated documentation before it is deployed.
3.3. Consent and Legal Basis
The legal basis on which we place cookies depends on the category concerned.
- Strictly necessary (essential) cookies are placed without requiring your consent, because they are necessary to provide a service you have expressly requested or to enable the technical operation and security of the Site.
- All other cookies — preference, audience measurement and, where applicable, marketing cookies — are placed only with your consent, given freely, in an informed and specific manner, where such consent is required by applicable law.
Where a consent mechanism (such as a banner or preference centre) is presented, you may accept or refuse non-essential cookies and may change your choices at any time. Refusing non-essential cookies will not prevent you from accessing the Site, but certain features or measurements may be limited. Your consent choices are themselves recorded, which may require a strictly necessary cookie so that we can honour your preference.
4.4. Lifespan of Cookies
Cookies remain on your device for different periods depending on their purpose:
- Session cookies are temporary. They exist only for the duration of your visit and are automatically deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device after your visit, for a defined period or until you delete them, so that the Site can recognize your device or preferences on a later visit.
We retain cookies only for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose for which they were placed, and we set retention periods proportionate to that purpose. The exact duration varies by cookie and, for third-party cookies, is also determined by the third party concerned. You can review and delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, as described in the next section.
5.5. How to Manage, Block or Delete Cookies
You can control cookies in several ways.
- Consent tool. Where a consent banner or preference centre is available on the Site, you can use it to accept or refuse non-essential cookies and to change your preferences.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you view the cookies stored on your device, delete them individually or all at once, block cookies from specific sites or from all sites, and receive a warning before a cookie is placed. These controls are usually found in the browser's "Settings", "Preferences", "Privacy" or "Security" menu. The exact steps differ by browser (for example Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and by device; please consult the help function of your browser for instructions.
Possible consequences. Blocking or deleting cookies is your right. However, if you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, certain features of the Site — such as keeping items in your cart, staying logged in, or completing an order, rental or workshop request — may not work correctly or at all. Blocking preference cookies may reduce convenience, and blocking analytics or marketing cookies may prevent us from measuring or tailoring your experience. Deleting cookies may also erase your previously recorded consent choices, in which case you may be asked to make them again.
6.6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third parties that provide services on or through the Site, such as audience measurement, content delivery, security or, where applicable, marketing services. When you use the Site, these third parties may set or read their own cookies on your device.
These third-party cookies are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of the third parties concerned, over which we do not have full control. We encourage you to review those policies to understand how each third party collects and uses information. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the practices of third parties or for cookies placed by them; nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, and your rights under applicable consumer protection and privacy legislation remain fully preserved.
7.7. Relationship with Our Privacy Policy
Cookies may involve the collection and processing of information about you, including in some cases personal information. The way we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information, and the rights available to you (including rights of access, rectification and withdrawal of consent), are described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of the same framework as this Cookie Policy.
In the event of any inconsistency between this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy regarding the handling of personal information, the Privacy Policy governs on matters of personal information protection. We recommend that you read both documents together.
8.8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may modify this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, in technology, or in applicable legal or regulatory requirements. The version published on the Site is the version in force.
When we make a significant change, we will update the Site accordingly and, where appropriate, indicate the date of the latest update or, where required by law, obtain your renewed consent for new categories of non-essential cookies. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect, together with any consent given through our consent tool, constitutes your acknowledgement of the updated Cookie Policy, to the extent permitted by law and without limiting your mandatory rights.
