Return, Exchange and Refund Policy
Last updated : July 6, 2026
This document is provided in English for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
This Return, Exchange and Refund Policy (the "Policy") applies to the online and in-store sale of trailer and RV parts and accessories by Location Remorque Laval (the "Company", "we", "us" or "our"), located at 1870 rue Cunard, Laval, Quebec, H7S 2B2. It describes when and how you may return or exchange a product, and how refunds are processed.
The returns described in this Policy are a commercial accommodation that we offer voluntarily, in addition to and without ever limiting the rights you hold by law. Nothing in this Policy reduces, excludes or affects your mandatory rights under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the Civil Code of Québec or any other applicable law, including the legal warranty of quality and durability. Where any provision of this Policy would conflict with those mandatory rights, those rights prevail.
1.1. Principle and Timeframe
As a commercial accommodation, we accept returns of eligible parts and accessories within thirty (30) days of the date you receive the product, provided all eligibility conditions in Section 2 are met.
The 30-day period runs from the date of delivery (for orders shipped) or the date of pickup (for orders collected in Laval). Requests received after this period may be refused as a commercial return, without prejudice to your rights under the legal warranty, which continue to apply regardless of this timeframe.
This commercial return window is separate from, and does not replace, any remedy available to you by law for a product that is defective, non-conforming or does not last a reasonable time given its price and the conditions of use.
2.2. Eligibility Conditions
To qualify for a commercial return or exchange, a product must meet all of the following conditions at the time we receive it:
- the product is new, unused and uninstalled, and shows no sign of mounting, wear, alteration or damage;
- the product is returned in its original packaging, complete and undamaged, with all accessories, manuals, protective materials, labels and any seals intact;
- you provide valid proof of purchase (order number, invoice or receipt) establishing that the product was purchased from the Company;
- the product is not listed among the non-returnable items in Section 3;
- the return is authorized in advance in accordance with the procedure in Section 5.
We reserve the right to inspect any returned product and to refuse, or to reduce the refund for, a commercial return that does not meet these conditions. This inspection right applies to commercial returns only and does not affect any claim you may make under the legal warranty.
3.3. Non-Returnable Items
To the extent permitted by law, the following items are not eligible for a commercial return or exchange:
- special orders and products ordered, sourced or manufactured specifically at your request;
- electrical and electronic parts (including wiring, controllers, modules, lighting and sensors), once the packaging has been opened;
- items that have been cut, mounted, installed or otherwise modified;
- used or already-mounted tires;
- products sold "as is", on clearance, as final sale or at a liquidation price.
Important: the fact that an item is not eligible for a commercial return does not deprive you of your rights under the law. Every product listed above remains covered by the legal warranty of quality and durability under the Consumer Protection Act. If any such product is defective, non-conforming or fails to last a reasonable time, you keep your full legal remedies, and this Section does not apply to that situation.
4.4. Restocking Fee
To the extent permitted by law, certain commercial returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to fifteen percent (15%) of the product's purchase price, to cover the costs of inspection, repackaging and handling. Where a restocking fee applies, it is deducted from the amount refunded to you.
A restocking fee is never charged when the return results from an error by the Company or from a product that is defective, non-conforming or damaged in transit. In those cases, no restocking fee applies and your legal rights are fully preserved.
5.5. Return Procedure
To request a commercial return or exchange, please follow these steps:
- Contact the Company within the applicable timeframe by email at info@locationremorquelaval.ca or by phone at 450-232-7828, with your order number and the reason for the return;
- Obtain a return authorization from us before shipping or returning any product. Returns sent without a valid authorization may be refused or delayed;
- Package the product properly, in its original packaging where required, with adequate protection so that it reaches us undamaged;
- Include the proof of purchase and the return authorization reference with your shipment.
You are responsible for the product until we receive it. We recommend using a shipping method that provides tracking. Improperly packaged returns that are damaged in transit back to us may not qualify for a full refund, except where the return arises from a Company error or a defective or non-conforming product.
6.6. Return Shipping Costs
For a commercial return made for convenience or preference, return shipping costs are borne by you, the customer. Original shipping charges paid on the initial order are non-refundable in that situation, to the extent permitted by law.
We pay the return shipping costs, and refund any related original shipping charges, whenever the return results from:
- an error by the Company (for example, a wrong item shipped); or
- a product that is defective, non-conforming or damaged in transit.
Nothing in this Section limits any remedy available to you by law where a product does not conform to the contract or to the legal warranty.
7.7. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect the returned product and confirm that it meets the eligibility conditions, we will process your refund to the original payment method used for the purchase, less any applicable restocking fee under Section 4.
We will issue the refund within a reasonable time after approval, generally within a few business days. The time for the funds to appear on your statement depends on your financial institution or card issuer and is beyond our control.
Where a refund is owed to you by law, it will be made in accordance with your legal rights, and this Section does not restrict the amount, form or timing of any refund required by the Consumer Protection Act.
8.8. Exchanges
Where a product qualifies for a commercial return under this Policy, you may request an exchange for another product instead of a refund, subject to availability.
If the replacement product has a higher price, you will be asked to pay the difference; if it has a lower price, the difference is refunded to your original payment method. An exchange requested for convenience is subject to the same eligibility conditions, shipping-cost rules and any restocking fee set out above.
Where a product is defective or non-conforming, any repair, replacement or exchange is provided in accordance with your rights under the legal warranty, at no cost to you for the return.
9.9. Items Damaged in Transit or Sent in Error
If your order arrives damaged in transit, or if you receive a wrong or incorrect item, please contact us promptly at info@locationremorquelaval.ca or 450-232-7828, ideally within a few days of delivery, and keep the packaging and any documentation. Where helpful, please include photographs of the product and packaging so we can process your claim quickly.
In these cases, we will arrange the return and provide a replacement, repair or refund at the Company's cost, including return shipping, with no restocking fee. This procedure is offered without prejudice to, and in addition to, your legal remedies.
10.10. Your Mandatory Rights Are Preserved
This Policy does not, and cannot, limit or waive your mandatory rights under the law. In particular, and to the extent required by the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec:
- the legal warranty of quality and durability applies to the products we sell, meaning they must be fit for their intended use and last a reasonable time given their price and the conditions of use — this warranty applies even to items described as non-returnable, "as is" or clearance;
- we do not exclude or limit our liability for bodily injury or moral injury, or for gross or intentional fault;
- any limitation, exclusion or condition in this Policy applies only to the extent permitted by law, and where it would conflict with your mandatory rights, those rights prevail and the remainder of this Policy continues to apply.
The commercial returns, exchanges and refunds described here are offered in addition to these legal rights and never in replacement of them.
11.11. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws applicable in the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Subject to any mandatory right you may have to bring proceedings elsewhere, any dispute relating to this Policy is submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the judicial district of Laval, Quebec.
